In case you were curious...

A lot of my inspiration comes from music. When listening to certain things I can get inspired to find the right sort of mood for my animation.

The two songs I listened to nonstop for the final was:

Alone With the Sea- Hurt

and

Once upon a December - Anastasia
But um the German version. Don't ask why, cuz I can't even tell you. I just like it more.

I've noticed that a lot of the songs that 'inspire' me is usually something from a Disney/ Don Bluth soundtrack (Far Longer than Forever, Dream is a wish the heart makes, etc.) I think 'cuz they tend to have more emotion than most music since they're apart of a story. Hehe.

For Kaveh's assignment this isn't done, but eh. My demo reel will have the finished product (and more animation... but 30 seconds was a LOT to do dammit. *hates on self somemore*) with the 3-D characters and stuff for interaction so you know why she's a sad panda.

Haha, so the first link is my second pass at this expression, and the third one is the one I'm currently working on. It looks better, but the expression kinda SNAPS right on, so I need even more key frames for the brows, which I can definitely do. :3

I have more animation than this, but I don't want to post it yet because I feel like this 'first' pass that it's all going through can be critiqued by me and when I get the second pass done (which to me means I animate it, realize how bad it looks and fix all the glaring flaws) on wednesday it'll be a better candidate for critique. So yes, this is all I have for the second pass currently. Does that make any sense? I sure hope so. EITHER WAY, I JUST KINDA WANTED TO PROVE I HAVEN'T BEEN A SLACKASS AND I HAVE BEEN DOING THINGS D:

I decided I wanted to do something ontop of my joint final. I bring you... WORM CAT. DUN DUN DUUUUN. He's adorable no? It's not finished, I'm not really sure what all to do with him, but I wanna animate him for the final, so I just have him runningish for now. I'm thinking of having him get caught on a hook or something and having him squirm so I can show his weight. :)

11 second club key frames

Here are the key frames for the project. I decided to keep it into a simple box instead of having him move as I had wanted. I MIGHT add that in though, so the audience understands why he's echoing.

11 second club ideas

Here's the answer to the questions Linda posted. I unfortunately couldn't type directly onto the template, but all well.

1. CEO of a large company that dabbles in many things, (like Wayne enterprises.)

2. He's motivated by the lust for power. He believes he's better than the world and can make it right, according to his own ideals and he's restless to "set the world right."

3. He's afraid of losing control and failure. He needs everything to fit into his preset boxes, and if all plans fail (for he has at least plans A-E ready) he has lost his success, which is the worst thing that could happen to him. He cannot fail.

4. He's clean, lint rolls his suit daily, and vain. Wears contacts instead of glasses because he doesn't want to appear weak in any way. He's always in control of his emotions. His laugh is a quiet and reserved chuckle, used often to mock.

5. He's pitching this to a female colleague he invited over.

6. He needs her to understand his passion for the sake of his argument. He has a need to tell someone his ambition and what is on his mind, testing her and using her as a control group to see how the general public would react.

7. He wants him to tap into the stereotype that women are the weaker 'fairer' sex, watch the innocence disappear when she realizes what he's going to do. He is indifferent to her, she is just a piece of a much larger puzzle in his plan of control.

8. They're in his mansion, he brought her there under the pretense of dinner. They're in his trophy room, where he was showing her his 'accomplishments.' The room is large, sparsely furnished and foreboding.


Interesting facts:
-He came from a poor background and worked ruthlessly to get to the top.
-He's a benevolent dictator, more likely to use friendly tactics to win over an audience before resulting to darker things such as blackmail and intimidation and in some cases, murder.
-He's only ever had two women in his life, neither of them his mother who died in labor. The first he met in college, and they broke up on good pretenses, and the second had a nasty breakup while they were engaged. He hasn't bothered since, believing that 'family' isn't necessarily one of the things a dictator needs to uphold an image.

ADJFK!!! I didn't realize this was due thursday... I thought it meant next thursday... I FAIL AT LIFE D:

So, here's the two entries I really liked. There were so many bad ones... I swear they half-assed some of it just for class or something, I was dissapoint. And I found myself liking 2-D submissions way more than the overused rigs I kept seeing.
